We checked 19 West Bridgford area shops, from Emilia Ryan Jewellery to a Ruddington gallery, for opening hours and addresses. Updated November 2026.

The West Bridgford area has 19 shops worth a Christmas shopping trip in 2026, and this guide puts them in one place with opening hours, addresses and what each one sells. The independents include Emilia Ryan, Living HQ, Hambleton Bakery and Debbie Bryan in Ruddington. We checked every entry on 5 November 2026 against the shop’s own site, and say where we could not.

We have not shopped at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Twelve are in West Bridgford and Edwalton, and seven are in Ruddington, Radcliffe on Trent, Bingham and Clipston. Most are independents. Waterstones, Oliver Bonas, Cook and Notcutts are chains, and they are here because the town’s Christmas shopping includes them. Oxfam and Barnardo’s are charity shops. Shops often change their hours close to Christmas, so check before a special trip.

Dates for the Christmas shopping diary

  • Friday 20 November: Cotgrave’s Christmas market at the shopping centre, from 1pm.
  • Saturday 21 November: the West Bridgford Christmas Countdown. The council’s Christmas page lists an indoor market at Lutterell Hall from midday to 7pm, food and drink on Central Avenue from 2pm, and the lights on at 5pm.
  • Friday 27 November: Bingham’s Christmas Fayre, with the Market Place shut to traffic from 1pm to 9pm.
  • Sunday 29 November: Radcliffe on Trent’s Christmas fair, from 1pm.
  • Saturday 5 December: the Ruddington village market on its usual first Saturday, a craft fayre at the Framework Knitters Museum and a market at West Bridgford Library. All three are on our Christmas markets page.

Late night shopping: we found no dedicated evening for 2026. On 21 November the council says Central Avenue retailers “staying open later in the day” include Waterstones and Barnardo’s. It gives no closing time and no fuller list.

Emilia Ryan describes itself as “an independent modern jewellery shop with traditional values”. It is run by its owner, Stuart Thexton, who says he travels around Europe and the Baltics to buy gemstones and silver.

This independent grocer at 4 Gordon Road also trades as The Fruit Basket. The Fruit Basket Direct, the family wholesale business behind it, still lists the shop as its retail store. A sponsored West Bridgford Wire article from November 2024 described handmade panettones and selected wines as Christmas ideas, along with local honey, flour and coffee.

The hours below come from that article, not from a current shop page, so ring first.

It is on the Business of the Year shortlist in this year’s Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards. Its own site would not load for us, so the hours come from its National Book Tokens listing, which also says it accepts those tokens.

Shops we left out

Closed: Iguazu, the fair trade gift shop at Fountain Court on Gordon Road, closed its West Bridgford branch in May 2026, according to its own site. The council’s West Bridgford Way directory still lists it. The Beeston shop remains open.

Moved: Underwraps Lingerie, which older listings place in Radcliffe on Trent, now gives an address in Hose, Leicestershire, by appointment only.

Unconfirmed, not closed: Daisy Daisy at 91A Melton Road and Rainbows and Lemondrops on Gordon Road are both gift shops in the council’s directory, but we could find no website with current hours. Daisy Daisy Limited is listed as active at Companies House. Henry Brewer Gallery’s website did not load when we checked. We will add any of them when we can confirm the details.

Getting there and parking

West Bridgford has no railway station. NCT buses and the tram serve the town, and our Christmas travel page has the seasonal changes. Car parks and tariffs are on our parking in West Bridgford page. Road closures are on our roadworks and travel page.

More for the Christmas season

How we chose

We started from the shops listed in the council’s West Bridgford Way directory, Visit Nottinghamshire’s Ruddington page and OpenStreetMap. We then kept the ones whose own sites, or a named public listing, confirm that they are trading and what they sell. Quotes are the shops’ own words. We chose on what the shops publish about themselves, not on taste, and we have not visited any of them for this guide.

Run a place that should be here, or spot something that has changed? Email newsdesk@westbridgfordlive.co.uk. Taken a good photograph of any of these places? Email it to newsdesk@westbridgfordlive.co.uk and we will add it with your name as the credit.
