Bingham's fayre and switch-on is Friday 27 November; Radcliffe's fair and lights are Sunday 29 November from 1pm. Keyworth and Cotgrave: no date yet.
Two Rushcliffe towns outside West Bridgford have fixed their 2026 Christmas lights dates: Bingham on Friday 27 November and Radcliffe on Trent on Sunday 29 November. Both come with a Christmas fair on the same day. West Bridgford’s own switch-on is a week earlier, on Saturday 21 November.
The quick answer
- West Bridgford: Saturday 21 November, lights on at 5pm. See our West Bridgford Christmas lights page.
- Bingham: Friday 27 November, Christmas Fayre and lights switch-on together. No times published yet.
- Radcliffe on Trent: Sunday 29 November, Christmas Fair and Light Switch-on from 1pm on Vicarage Lane. Switch-on time not yet published.
- Keyworth: the parish council says the lights go on “at the beginning of December”. No 2026 date.
- Cotgrave, East Leake and Ruddington: nothing published for 2026 when we checked on 16 October.
Bingham: Friday 27 November
Bingham Town Council’s events listing carries two entries for the same day: the Christmas Lights Switch On and the Christmas Fayre, both Friday 27 November 2026. The fayre’s poster, posted on 1 September, shows the Buttercross and the date and nothing else. No start time, switch-on time or stall list has been published.
Last year’s road closures show the shape of the day. For the fair on Friday 28 November 2025, the town council advertised closures from 1pm to 9pm for the event, organised by Bingham Community Events:
- Market Place, its entire length.
- Market Street, from Union Street to Newgate Street.
- Station Street, its entire length.
- No waiting, loading or unloading on Long Acre between Market Street and Fairfield Street, with traffic sent round Newgate Street, Fairfield Street and Long Acre.
That notice went up on 3 November last year, so expect this year’s in early November. We will add it here when it appears.
Radcliffe on Trent: Sunday 29 November
Radcliffe on Trent Parish Council lists its Christmas Fair for Sunday 29 November 2026, starting at 1pm, at Vicarage Lane, NG12 2FB, the address of The Grange and Grange Hall, where the parish council has its office. The lead organiser is named as Hayley Gandy.
The council describes the event as the Radcliffe-on-Trent Christmas Fair and Light Switch-on, run with the Radcliffe Christmas Fair committee “for decades, generally on the last weekend in November”, with over 40 stalls, Santa’s grotto, rides and food. Local artisans sell gifts and local organisations raise money.
The 2026 listing gives a start time but no switch-on time and no finish time. For comparison, the parish council’s own poster and programme for 2024 gave:
| 2024 programme | Time |
|---|---|
| Fair opened | 12 noon |
| Father Christmas and his elves arrived | 2pm |
| Newark Town Band carols | 4.15pm |
| Raffle drawn in the Grange Hall | 4.30pm |
| Lights switched on, with Father Christmas | 4.45pm |
| Fair closed | 5pm |
Entry was free in 2024, with fair rides, mulled wine and a bar, and stalls inside the Grange Hall, The Grange and around the grounds. This year’s 1pm start is an hour later than 2024’s, so do not assume the rest of the timetable carries over. We will update this page when the 2026 programme is published.
Two Radcliffe pubs have run their own Christmas markets in recent years, the parish council notes: the Royal Oak on Main Road and a pub on Shelford Road. We found no 2026 dates for either.
Keyworth: “the beginning of December”
Keyworth Parish Council’s Christmas lights page says the village’s lights “are switched on at the beginning of December”, with “usually around fifty trees/sets of lights around the village”, part-funded by local businesses. It gives no 2026 date and does not describe a public switch-on event. If one is announced, it will be here.
Cotgrave, East Leake and Ruddington: nothing yet
- Cotgrave: the town council’s events page had no Christmas listing on 16 October. Its next event is the free fireworks display on Sunday 1 November.
- East Leake: nothing on the parish council’s news page. Its January 2026 full council agenda included a request from East Leake Markets to use the Gotham Road car park for a Christmas 2026 market; we have not found the decision.
- Ruddington: no switch-on has been announced, and the village’s three-day Christmas market has published nothing since 2023. Our Rushcliffe Christmas markets page has the detail.
Getting there
Bingham’s closures put the Market Place and Station Street out of use for the afternoon and evening, so park away from the centre. In West Bridgford, our parking page has the car parks and tariffs, and any road closures in the run-up will be on our roadworks and travel page.
