Chapter 2 on Pavilion Road, West Bridgford, was rated 0 in September, one of 18 ratings published late. All 26 October ratings so far were 4 or 5.

A food business on Pavilion Road in West Bridgford has been given a food hygiene rating of 0, “urgent improvement necessary”. It is the lowest rating there is.

The Food Standards Agency register lists the business as Chapter 2, at the Hubble Bubble Bar on Pavilion Road, NG2 5FP. Rushcliffe Borough Council’s inspectors rated it on 18 September 2026. (Food Standards Agency, Chapter 2)

The rating was not on the register when we reported September’s ratings on 1 October. It is one of 18 September ratings that appeared afterwards. Our earlier report said all 19 September ratings were 5. That was true of the register then, but it is not the full picture, and we have added a correction to it.

October was a better month. All 26 ratings dated October were 4 or 5.

What the scores show

The register also shows how each business scored in the three areas inspectors check. Lower is better: 0 means no problems, and the worst possible marks are 25 for the first two and 30 for management.

  • Chapter 2: 25 for hygienic food handling, 25 for the condition of the premises and 20 for confidence in management
  • The Old Wharf: 5 for food handling, 15 for the premises and 20 for management
  • Kona: 15 for food handling, 10 for the premises and 10 for management

So at Chapter 2, food handling and the state of the building both got the worst possible mark. The register does not say what the inspectors found. The full inspection report can be requested from Rushcliffe Borough Council.

October: 24 fives and two fours

Rushcliffe’s inspectors gave 24 businesses a 5 in October. The two 4s went to:

  • Mrs Bunns Cob Emporium, 28 Musters Road, West Bridgford, rated 8 October (FSA)
  • Indian Nights, Fosse Way, East Bridgford, rated 8 October (FSA)

A 4 means “good”. Among October’s 5s were The Playroom nursery on Musters Road, Kindred West Bridgford on Adbolton Lane, Pig and Pudding in Cotgrave, The Chestnut in Radcliffe on Trent, Canterbury’s Delicatessen in Keyworth, and the convenience store on Burnside Grove, Tollerton.

What it means for you

  • Check before you go. Any business’s current rating is on the FSA website, and most display a sticker in the window or door.
  • A rating is a snapshot. It records conditions on the day of the inspection. A business rated 0 or 1 can ask for a re-inspection once it has made improvements, and can appeal or publish a right to reply on the register. None of these businesses had a right to reply on the register when we checked.
  • To report a problem with a food business in the borough, contact Rushcliffe Borough Council’s food safety team.
