Every Rushcliffe food business given a hygiene rating in September scored the top 5. Five are in West Bridgford, three are nurseries and one is a cheese shop.
Every food business in Rushcliffe that received a hygiene rating in September scored the top mark. The Food Standards Agency’s register shows 19 ratings dated September 2026 for the borough, and all 19 are 5, “very good”.
That has not been the pattern all year. Of the 19 ratings on the register dated August, 12 were 5 and four were 2 or lower.
Five of September’s top scores went to businesses with a West Bridgford address. The rest are spread across the villages, from Ruddington to Upper Broughton.
Who was rated in September
Rushcliffe Borough Council’s inspectors gave a 5 to:
- Five West Bridgford businesses: two day nurseries, the Brew And Bakes cafe on Wilford Lane, the Pizza Hut delivery kitchen and the Sushi Daily counter in Asda on Loughborough Road
- Three more caring premises and a school, among them the nursery at Grosvenor School in Edwalton, the Church Farm kitchen at Field House Nursing Home in Radcliffe on Trent, about five miles east, and Radcliffe on Trent Infant and Nursery School
- Destination cafes and restaurants, including the Ripcord Cafe in the control tower at Langar Airfield, about ten miles east, and the coffee shop in Parker’s Yard at the Framework Knitters Museum in Ruddington
- Food producers, including the Cheesemakers Shop at the Cropwell Bishop Creamery, about eight miles east, and Belvoir Bakery
Four of the 19 have no street address on the register, which usually means a business run from home. One of them is a cake business that trades under a person’s name, so we have listed it by type only.

What it means for you
A 5 is a snapshot of the day of the inspection. It covers how food is handled and stored, the condition of the premises and how the business manages food safety. It does not rate the food itself or the service.
Ratings can take a few weeks to appear online. A business can appeal its rating, and the register only shows it once it is published. Inspections from late September may still be added, so this list is what the register showed on 1 October.
Check before you book. Any business’s current rating is free to look up on the FSA ratings site. Businesses in England do not have to display their sticker, so the register is the only reliable place to check.
A business rated below 5 can ask for a revisit. It can request a re-inspection once it has made improvements, and it has a right to publish a reply alongside its rating.
If you are planning a day out to any of the villages above, our things to do in West Bridgford page has parking notes for each venue, and parking in West Bridgford has the town centre tariffs.
